Captain Rick: I was one of the millions glued to their TV sets back in the 80’s as Larry captivated the TV primetime audience as J. R. Ewing, the ruthless oil baron, in  “Dallas”, possibly the greatest TV series ever. He revealed his battle with throat cancer including radiation therapy and chemotherapy on an “Entertainment Tonight” in January, ahead of his second season of the new “Dallas” series on TNT. I don’t doubt that this will make for the “Dallas Cliffhanger” of all.

It is reported that co-stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy were by his side during his final moments at Medical City Hospital in Dallas.
